You need to add a bot catcher to the registration. We're getting 20+ russian posts a day. I disabled new topic for registered users in the public forums, but it's a shitty way to go about it and may not work much at all.

I think it may be fixed.

Basically, in the agreement forms, there was a word that is easily guessed by 99% of all bots (that word being 'agree').

The simple fix is to change that word in the code and all the style sheets to a word that is not so easily guessed by the bots.

That word happens to be the name of the only person in KoHF who has black text for a name.

I cleared the cache afterwards, and this should fix the problem provided everything updates correctly.

Let me know if this persists in being a problem and I'll install some other mods.

Most people have said this fix works for bot scripts quite well however.

Actually, i just need to clear out the current bots, then it should be fixed.

If this one doesn't work, there's another mod I can track down that basically requires you to go on a treasure hunt and find a word on the forums.

It's like, "Go to the thread titled 'Does Tarabyte have an STD and did she give it to Majichef?' and type in the first word of the first post." So you go to the thread (like you really need to check), then type in the answer (YES), and then it authenticates you.

If I can find that mod for phpbb3, I'll install it (hell I may install it for fun anyway), I'll try that next.

I had to delete a post about some random porn site this morning, so something is still going thru.

I added a more advanced captcha function. We'll see if that works.

There is a port of that "go here and type in the word you find there" mod for phpbb3, but the douche is trying to charge for it. So I'll try this new captcha and see if it works.

You can check by going into the Administration Control Power, and scrolling down to Inactive Users. If accounts keep piling up there, it didn't work.

i had those things come into faith's forums awhile back.. i turned on the word box thing and they stopped coming!

well, it's been a couple hours, no inactive user registrations (the usual way I see spambots), so maybe this "advanced captcha" worked.
