I AM the ace on my resume. Seriously, if nuclear chemist isn't getting you an interview, you need something closer to a $50 than a mensa reference on that resume.

Congrats for getting in, though it shouldn't be a shock as you (like most people in KoHF) are a bright person :)

I decided membership wasn't worth the $60 a year. If you manage to start the zombie apocalypse I suppose I will have to admit that it was indeed worth the annual dues :)

lol i have an old work buddy who is in one of those evil cults, i should get into that too. I'm actually thinking of taking a binet test and upgrading to a higher club for shits and giggles. I'll do that before I join a cult.

I've got the VFW too, those are some sad mother fuckers to drink with.

You have to be invited to the Masons, but from what I hear there isn't a ton of like ruling the world shit. Keep in mind, once upon a time Freemason lodges were everywhere, and it was an extremely common and not ESPECIALLY hard group to get into. Then there was this huge anti-mason/anti-clandestine movement in American society. I haven't taken American history in a while but I'm like 90% sure it was in the early 1800's. Either way, it's reputation as like the shadow government society is a pretty modern thing.

I don't really think they're cults or whatever - I think they're pretty much networking tools and post-college fraternities.

From what our consultant said (he actually is a Freemason), it's Christian based in what they do and it's kind of like a big boy's tree house club, lol. An example of one of their rituals is that if you are new to a lodge, you knock, someone asks you a specific question, you give a specific answer, they go up the ranks of current members in voting to let you in, if they choose so, you are invited into that lodge (not to be a part of it, but this is if you already are one and you're going to a lodge out of town or something). It's an interesting organization, but even he wouldn't give us a lot of information as it is "confidential".

Your consultant is either lying to you or your consultant isn't a Freemason. First of all, the Freemason is not Christian based. It originated as a crafting guild and over time it evolved into fostering brotherhood in the name of a supreme being. That supreme being isn't based on a particular religion, a candidate into a lodge doesn't have to declare which supreme he believes in so long as he is in fact some sort of a deist. In fact, the most ardent oppositions to the Freemason are the Roman Catholic and Anglican churches.

It's true that a member can't really divulge much about his lodge. But the more realistic reason why not much is known about the Freemason is that each lodge are independent from each other. Not each lodge have the same objectives. Secret knocks might be a ritual in one lodge but not in another. In fact rituals like these are done more so in the name of tradition than weeding out prospects. Most lodges now hold open houses to entice new members as membership trend have been dropping, although they still screen potential members have them go through a selection process using some type of buddy systems where the Mason you're buddied to reports to the selection committee. But again each lodge has their own selection process.

The Freemasons Guild is actually just a front to hide the real secret organization, the Brotherhood of Pastries and Baked Confections. The real members of this organization recruit the fluff in the Freemasons Guild and organize occasional frivolities in order to make everyone think they apart of a serious organization. In fact, these superfluous members are merely pawns amidst a worldwide game of recipe-hiding, strudel-gorging chess. Laugh all you want, but I dare you to go tiptoeing around the clubhouse at night, checking all of the broom closets. Chances are you'll barge in a the select few viceroys stuffing their faces on the sacred cache of sweet rolls, turnovers, and kringle. Unfortunately, such an offense would certainly result in your termination.

I plan on using the SIG (special interest groups) to find other biochemists with evil plans. If there aren't enough evils then ill drop 100 bucks on a standard IQ test (binet) and see how many decimal places I can get into. I guarantee there will be some evil mother fuckers in those groups!

But before I can do any of that I gotta figure out which god damn weapons and people to level up in FF13. I shoulda bought a damn guide.......

Level the badass fighter, the cute summoner chick, and the main char. That usually works out pretty well. (This is assuming that this game follows the preset character models like all ff games do... I don't actually know anything about the game).

The last FF I played was VII (not counting the Tactics, Cristal Chronicles and other FF subseries). We're like 25 hours into FF13 and it's still a series of tunnels... and at least half of these hours are cinematics. I don't know if it'll be any different in the rest of the game, but for now, yeah, disappointment. They removed all the exploration elements, which is a huge part of any RPG imo.

I just hope it'll change for an open world with chocobos soon.

Yeah, this was my biggest problem with a couple rpgs, namely Twilight Princess and FF12. You have some options to travel around, but it feels like you're forced into following the story even if you just want to fool around. When one of these RPGs gets rid of the quirky sidequests, there's a problem.

13 isn't bad. The beginning is annoying because its completely linear and they swap your groups around all the time. After like 25-30 hours you get to do what you want, and the game fucking explodes with options and customization. It's going to be a grindfest like a mother fucker for crystal abilities and weapon and item leveling.

It looks amazing, and the story isnt bad after you get into it and realize wtf is going on. I'm actually doing a cheap bitch standard group with the main chick, the kid, and fang (the fighter chick). All the characters can level up all areas, but only certain characters get certain abilities in that area.

The battle system is pro btw. Paradigm swapping is alot more fun than command punching, and the summons are more fun too.

Yea, it's kind of the next step they needed to take to keep the franchise alive. Once the faboys (including myself) get over the old school rpg play, I think this is a nice new direction.

We just got out of the linear "intro". Every ability tree available to everyone? THIS IS MADNESS

The kid is good, but his hp sucks, and Sahz has celerity, which kicks major asses. We've been running Lightning-Sahz-Fang, seems to work well for now.

Yea i like the fact that sahz gets haste buff so early. It's weird going from all offensive with some healing builds, into chapter 11 & 12 where if you dont have a tank, you get instaowned!

I'm just going to save up all the items to uberlevel some weapons. I made the mistake of leveling lightnings gladius to tier 2, and now I want to level a lionheart.

I hate healing so I use hope (though vanille is awesome too), and swap to combat medic when shit hits the fan.
